Alex

Kobe Bryant Day will be celebrated on August 24, 2023, in Los Angeles and Orange County. The day commemorates the life of the late NBA legend, who would have turned 45 on August 23. In honor of Bryant, the Santa Monica Pier Ferris wheel will be lit up in purple and gold.

The Ferris wheel lighting is just one of many events planned for Kobe Bryant Day. Other events include a basketball tournament at the Santa Monica High School gym, a mural unveiling at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard, and a candlelight vigil at the Staples Center.

The Ferris wheel lighting will take place at 8:24 p.m., which is a nod to Bryant's jersey numbers, 8 and 24. The lighting will be free and open to the public.

Conclusion:

Kobe Bryant Day is a day to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the greatest basketball players of all time. The Ferris wheel lighting is a fitting tribute to Bryant, who was a beloved figure in Los Angeles and around the world.
